Michael Spriggs, in his seventh year as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Cleveland State, is responsible for the medical care of the wrestling, cross country, track and field and golf athletes, while overseeing an intern covering men’s soccer. Spriggs served as the primary athletic trainer for the men’s soccer program from 2011-2016.

Before coming to Cleveland State, Spriggs was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at George Mason University (2009-2011) where he provided care for the men’s soccer and track and field teams. While at George Mason, he earned a Master of Science in Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion.

Spriggs is a 2009 graduate of Capital University in Columbus, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training with a minor in Health.

In addition to his Board of Certification (BOC) and Ohio licensure, Spriggs is also a certified American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED Instructor. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association (GLATA), and Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association (OATA).

Spriggs resides in North Ridgeville with his wife Meghan (’11) and their dog Luna.
