MEN’S BASKETBALL
• The Vikings are out of
action until CSU hosts Western Carolina on Dec. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
• CSU also hosts Notre
Dame (OH) on Dec. 18 at 7:00 p.m. and travels to Toldeo for a 2:00
p.m. contest on Dec. 21.
• The Vikings are 4-5
overall after dropping two games last week, falling at Drexel in
triple overtime, 85-82, on Wednesday and losing at home to Akron,
73-61, on Saturday.
• Jon Harris scored a
career-high 27 points in 44 minutes off the bench at Drexel.
• Bryn Forbes leads the
team in scoring (18.6) and Trey Lewis is second at 13.6 ppg.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
• CSU is out of action
until the Vikings place at VCU on Dec. 15 at 2:00 p.m.
• The Vikings also head
to New Hampshire on Dec. 18 at 12:00 p.m. and play host to Indiana
at 2:00 p.m. on Dec. 21.
• The Vikings are 4-4
this year, having won three of their last four games, including a
76-64 win over Ohio last Thursday.
• Haley Schmitt posted
her first career double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
• Imani Gordon leads the
team in scoring (16.4) and rebounding (8.6) this season.
MEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING
• CSU is out of action
until the Holiday Invitational on Jan. 4.
• The Vikings are 5-4
this year after defeating Canisius and Notre Dame (OH) at the City
College Meet on Tuesday.
• Six swimmers also
competed at the U.S. Winter Nationals over the weekend.
• Nathan Grant set a
school record in the 200 breast with a time of 1:59.67
• Alex Lewis set school
records in the 100 fly (48.11) and the 50 free (19.68).
WOMEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING
• The Vikings are out of
action until the Holiday Invitational on Jan. 4.
• CSU is 5-4 overall
after winning duals over Canisius and Notre Dame (OH) on Tuesday at
the City College Meet.
• Alex Johansson and
Madisen Tretter also competed at the U.S. Winter National
Championships over the weekend.
WRESTLING
• CSU will host the CSU
Open beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday in Woodling Gym.
• The Vikings travel to
Boone, N.C., for a pair of matches on Dec. 19, wrestling
Appalachian State at 5:00 p.m. and taking on N.C. State at 7:00
p.m.
• CSU is 1-2 this year
following a 25-6 setback at Northern Illinois on Thursday.
• Mike Carlone earned a
6-5 win at 141 pounds, while Nick Corba picked up a 3-1 decision at
174 pounds against the Huskies.
VIKING OF THE WEEK
Nathan Grant, Men’s Swimming, Junior,
Blacktown, Australia
Grant had a strong showing at the U.S. Winter National
Championships over the weekend, setting the school record in the
200 breast with a time of 1:59.67. He also tied his lifetime best
in the 100 breaststroke and was part of the 4x50 relay squad. Grant
also had a strong showing at the City College Meet, helping the
Vikings to a 2-0 mark.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Mike Carlone: The 141-pound sophomore picked up
his fifth win of the season with a tight 6-5 victory against
Northern Illinois.
Jon Harris: The senior men’s basketball
player scored a career-high 27 points, playing 44 minutes off the
bench, at Drexel. He is averaging 11.3 points this season.
Haley Schmitt: The women’s basketball
senior tallied her first career double-double with 20 points and 10
rebounds in a win over Ohio.
