A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...

Cross Country
- The Vikings will compete in their final race of the 2018 season this weekend, taking part in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, November 9.
- Last time out, the Vikings placed eighth at the Horizon League Championship, paced by Anna Brandt who finished third overall with a Cleveland State record time of 21:43.

Men's Soccer
- Cleveland State (4-8-3, 1-4-3 HL) scored with 33 seconds left in regulation to equalize at Detroit Mercy and went on to earn a 1-1 tie in the season finale.
- Sophomore Zack Kluever scored the tying goal with an assist from Hayden Parente.

Women's Soccer
- The Vikings (11-7-1, 6-2-1) wrapped up their historic 2018 season last weekend, advancing to the Horizon League Championship match for the first time in program history.
- Cleveland State earned the No. 2 seed in the #HLWSOC Tournament after posting a program-best 6-2-1 record during regular season play.
- The Vikings picked up a 2-1 victory over Detroit Mercy in the semifinals to notch their 11th win of the season - the most in program history - before dropping a 1-0 heartbreaker to top-seeded Milwaukee in the final.
- Stacie Morris, Sarah Krause and Essence Canady were named to the #HLWSOC All-Tournament Team.

Volleyball
- Cleveland State (17-9, 11-3) will wrap up regular season play this week, traveling to Wright State on Friday, November 9 and Northern Kentucky on Saturday, November 10.
- Entering the final week of #HLVB play, the Vikings are tied for first in the league standings.
- Last week, the Vikings split their matches, dropping a five-set contest at IUPUI before returning home to post a 3-1 victory over Milwaukee on Senior Day.

Men's Tennis
- Cleveland State finished its fall season last weekend, hosting the third annual Viking Invitational.
- Nico Mostardi captured the Main Singles Draw championship, while Mostardi and Benjamin Slade won the Main Doubles Draw title.
- After going 5-0 on the weekend, Mostardi recorded his 50th career singles win, becoming the 14th Viking all-time to reach the milestone.
- Sophomore Matthew Terry and freshman Raul Teichmann both finished the fall season with 10 singles wins, while newcomer Clark Bilinovich recorded nine victories during tournament play.

Women's Tennis
- The Vikings concluded their fall season last weekend, participating in the WMU Super Challenge.
- Isabella Spindler, Kateryna Avram and Klara Mrcela each picked up two singles wins on the weekend, with Avram finishing the fall slate with a team-best seven singles wins.
- After picking up two singles wins during the final weekend of tournament play, Spindler now enters the spring season just three wins shy of recording her 50th singles win of her career.

Men's Basketball
- Cleveland State opens the regular season Tuesday, November 6, at defending Atlantic 10 champion Davidson.
- CSU will then host Kent State Saturday, November 10, in the second half of the Northeast Ohio Coaches vs. Cancer doubleheader.
- The Vikings dispatched Ohio Valley, 102-55, in their lone exhibition this past week as Stefan Kenic had game highs in points (21) and rebounds (9).

Women's Basketball
- Cleveland State will officially kick off the 2018-19 season this week, hosting Salem University in the season opener on Tuesday, November 6, before hitting the road for a pair of games at Eastern Michigan (Friday, November 9) and Ball State (Sunday, November 11).
- Cleveland State will be under the direction of first year head coach Chris Kielsmeier and returns six letterwinners from last season's team.

Fencing
- Cleveland State will take this weekend off before heading to Ohio State's Elite Invitational Duals the following weekend.
- The Viking men went 6-0 this past weekend at the Case Western Duals while the women went 4-2.
- Freshman Sawyer Cornett went 18-0 on the men's side while freshmen Abby Barr and Shelbie Seeberg both were 18-0 on the women's side.

Men's Swimming & Diving
- Cleveland State takes this weekend off from competition before hosting the annual Magnus Cup.
- CSU fell at Miami (Ohio) in dual action last weekend, 208-92.
- Sophomore Matt Akers surpassed the NCAA qualifying standard in 1-meter diving for the second straight weekend.

Women's Swimming & Diving
- Cleveland State takes this weekend off from competition before hosting the annual Magnus Cup.
- CSU fell at Miami (Ohio) in dual action last weekend, 243-51.

Wrestling
- Cleveland State continues action this weekend with a quad dual at Bucknell that also features Buffalo and VMI.
- Redshirt senior Armando Torres won the Clarion Open at 133 pounds this past weekend, posting five wins, four of which were of the bonus-point variety.
- Redshirt sophomore Nico O'Dor placed fourth at 157 pounds after netting four wins on the day.

Viking of the Week
Armando Torres, Wrestling
The redshirt senior won the Clarion Open at 133 pounds, posting five wins on the weekend. Four of his five wins came as bonus-point victories during the first competition of the 2018-19 season.
