Steven Chasey Named Compliance Specialist at CSU

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Steven Chasey has been named the Compliance Specialist at Cleveland State as announced by Director of Athletics Mike Thomas on Thursday, effective immediately.

Chasey spent the last year as the Compliance Coordinator at Columbia, contributing to the oversight and processes and procedures for compliance for a 29-sport department. He worked directly with coaches, staff and student-athletes on rules education, bylaw interpretations, eligibility, academic advising, recruiting and NCAA and Ivy League rules compliance.

He was also a compliance assistant at St. Francis College (NY) from 2015-16.

Chasey earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green in 2009 and his Juris Doctorate in 2012 from Albany Law School. He is slated to receive his Master's in Sports Management from Columbia in August.

While at Albany, he was the Founding President of the Albany Law School Sports Law Forum and also participated in the Tulane Mardi Gras Sports Law Invitational Competition.
