A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING

Men's Basketball
• The Vikings (9-22) concluded the 2016-17 season with an 84-69 setback to Youngstown State in the first round of the Horizon League Championship on Friday night in Detroit.
• Rob Edwards - who was a second team All-Horizon League pick - led CSU with 27 points.

Women's Basketball
• Cleveland State (14-16, 9-9) wrapped up the 2016-17 season at Motor City Madness, falling to Detroit Mercy, 70-56 in a quarterfinal game on Sunday.
• Three Vikings picked up Horizon League Postseason awards - Ashanti Abshaw (First Team), Khayla Livingston (Second Team), and Jade Ely (All-Freshman Team).

Men's & Women's Fencing
• Cleveland State will compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, March 11, at Wayne State.
• Ten Vikings met the NCAA Regional qualification standards and will compete this weekend, including three that will compete in the men's epee event.

Men's Golf
• The Vikings will compete in the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C. on Monday and Tuesday (March 6-7).
• CSU opened the spring season by placing sixth of 18 teams at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate last week. Patrick Luth tied for 19th place with rounds of 79-74-70 (223), earning Horizon League Player of the Week honors.

Men's Lacrosse
• Cleveland State (2-5) begins a challenging five-game road trip this weekend by heading to nationally ranked Ohio State on Saturday (March 11) at 1:00 p.m.
• The Vikings hosted Canisius this past Saturday and dropped a 17-7 decision. Jake Lewis became the first Viking to have a five-point effort as he posted two goals and a team season-high three assists in the setback.

Softball
• CSU (1-16) heads south for four games in the Jacksonville Tournament this weekend. The Vikings play host Jacksonville and St. Bonaventure on Saturday and Sunday (March 11-12).
• The Vikings dropped two games to DePaul and at Winthrop over the weekend.
• Macy Kaisk hit two homers, while Aubrie Tone had a three-run homer in the first game of the tournament vs. DePaul.

Men's Swimming & Diving
• Philipp Sikatzki will officially find out this week if he has been invited to the NCAA Championships for a second consecutive season. He won all three Horizon League individual events he entered in NCAA 'B' standards.

Men's Tennis
• CSU (5-8) will take a break from competition this week, returning to the courts on their annual spring break trip with matches at UTSA (March 14) and Rice (March 16).
• CSU dropped a pair of hard-fought matches vs. Xavier (4-3) and Western Michigan (6-1) over the weekend.
• Following the weekend's action, three Vikings now have double-digit singles wins on the year, led by freshman Nico Mostardi who has a team-best 14-10 record.

Women's Tennis
• Cleveland State (5-7) will have the week off from competition, returning to action on their annual spring break trip when they travel to Lamar (March 13) and Sam Houston State (March 15).
• The Vikings picked up a pair of wins in the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion over the weekend, defeating Butler (5-2) and St. Bonaventure (7-0). Cleveland State is now 5-1 in the MMTP this season.
• Princess Gbadamosi, Jana Schober, and Blanche Lenoan all went 2-0 in singles play on the weekend.

Wrestling
• Cleveland State placed sixth at the Eastern Wrestling League Championships with 21 points.
• Junior Nick Corba was second at 184 pounds after dropping a 6-3 decision in the final, while sophomore Evan Cheek went 3-1 at 141 pounds to finish third and improve his team-leading win total to 27.

VIKING OF THE WEEK

Princess Gbadamosi| Senior | Women's Tennis | Houston, Texas

Gbadamosi led the Vikings to wins over Butler and St. Bonaventure over the weekend. She went 2-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles play on the weekend and is now tied for eighth on the CSU all-time singles wins list with 62 career victories. She also picked up the 50th doubles win of her career.

Nick Corba | Jr. | Wrestling
Was runner-up at 184 pounds at the EWL Championship, winning his first two matches by a combined 8-1 score to advance to final.

Rob Edwards | So. | Men's Basketball
Scored 27 points, the second most in a Horizon League tournament game in program history, on Friday night vs. Youngstown State.

Aubrie Tone | So. | Softball
Hit her first career home run - a three-run shot - in CSU's game vs. DePaul on Friday.
