A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING

Men's Basketball
• The Vikings (6-15, 2-8 HL) return home for the first time in three weeks when CSU hosts Detroit Mercy on Thursday (Feb. 2) at 7:00 pm and Oakland on Saturday (Feb. 4) at 2:00 pm in the Wolstein Center.
• CSU dropped games at Green Bay and Youngstown State last week. Rob Edwards scored 28 points at Green Bay, while Anthony Wright had 11 points and nine boards at YSU.

Women's Basketball
• Cleveland State (10-11, 5-5) will begin a four-game roadswing this week, traveling to UIC (Thursday, Feb. 2) and Valparaiso (Saturday, Feb. 4).
• Last week the Vikings faced Milwaukee and nationally ranked Green Bay in a pair of Horizon League contests, with redshirt sophomore Ashanti Abshaw eclipsing the 900-point mark for her career following a 21-point performance against the Phoenix.

Fencing
• Cleveland State heads to the NU Duals this coming weekend for a two-day event hosted by Northwestern.
• CSU was off last week after having hosted a pair of events Jan. 21-22. The CSU men went 3-3 at the CSU Duals while the depleted women's team went 1-5.

Men's Lacrosse
• Cleveland State plays its inaugural game in program history on Saturday, Feb. 4, against Michigan at 7:00 p.m.

Men's Swimming & Diving
• Cleveland State has its final dual of the season this weekend as it hosts Buffalo on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2:00 p.m.
• The Vikings fell to defending champion Oakland this past Friday, 170.5-129.5.
• Sophomore Curtis Roden scored a career high 320.93 points in 3-meter diving to surpass the qualifying standard for NCAA Zone Championships.

Women's Swimming & Diving
• Cleveland State has its final dual of the season this weekend as it hosts Buffalo on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2:00 p.m.
• The Vikings fell to defending champion Oakland this past Friday, 185-107.
• Senior Tori Taffner swept the diving events against the Golden Grizzlies, the second time she achieved that feat against a League school this season.

Men's Tennis
• After a week off from competition, CSU (1-1) returns to the courts at Bucknell (Friday, Feb. 3) and Penn State (Saturday, Feb. 4).

Women's Tennis
• CSU (0-3) will host Western Michigan and Oberlin in its home-opener on Friday, February 3 - facing Western Michigan at 3:00 p.m. and Oberlin at 7:00 p.m. in the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
• Last time out, the Vikings dropped a hardfought 6-1 contest at Toledo, with Victoria Bensimon picking up a victory at No. 3 singles.

Women's Track & Field
• Under first year head coach Maddy Outman, Cleveland State will make its track and field debut this weekend, participating in the Youngstown National Invitational on Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4.
• The Vikings, who are competing in their first track and field season, have a 15-member roster, including eight student-athletes that also compete on Cleveland State's cross country team.

Wrestling
• Cleveland State (1-7, 0-3) remains at home to host Bloomsburg on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7:00 p.m.
• The Vikings hosted Lock Haven in their home opening dual last Friday and suffered a 35-9 setback.
• Sophomore Evan Cheek and redshirt junior Nick Corba both picked up bonus-point victories in the setback.

VIKING OF THE WEEK

Phillip Sikatzki| Senior | Men's Swimming | Leipzig, Germany

Sikatzki won both of his individual events in NCAA 'B' qualifying times in Friday's dual vs. Oakland. He claimed the 100 backstroke in 47.56 seconds and topped the field in the 100 butterfly in 47.63 seconds. Sikatzki also swam the lead leg on CSU's winning 200 medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:30.62.

Moved into a tie for eighth place on the CSU singles wins list with 61 career victories with a win at No. 3 singles vs. Toledo.

Kasheem Thomas | Fr. | Men's Basketball
Dished out a career-high 10 assists in Saturday's game at Youngstown State.
