A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING

Men's Basketball
• Cleveland State (5-11, 1-3 HL) returns home to host UIC at 7:45 pm on Thursday (Jan. 12) and Valparaiso on Saturday (Jan. 14) in the Wolstein Center.
• The Vikings dropped a pair of road games last week, falling at Wright State on Thursday, 55-51, and at Northern Kentucky, 83-75, on Saturday.
• Senior Demonte Flannigan posted his sixth career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds at WSU, while sophomore Rob Edwards led the Vikings with 19 points at NKU.
• Flannigan is averaging 14.5 points and 9.0 rebounds through four Horizon League games this year, while shooting .556 (25-45) from the field.

Women's Basketball
• Cleveland State (7-7, 2-1 HL) will return to the Wolstein Center this week, hosting Valparaiso at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 12 and UIC at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14.
• The Vikings split a pair of Horizon League road contests over the weekend, defeating Northern Kentucky, 58-54, before falling at Wright State, 84-63.
• Sophomore Ashanti Abshaw averaged 20.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. She leads the league averaging 18.9 points per game this season and ranks 10th with 6.6 rebounds per contest.

Fencing
• Cleveland State returns to action this weekend at the Detroit Mercy Duals on Saturday, Jan. 14.
• The Vikings have been off from competition since Nov. 5 when CSU posted a combined 12-2 record at the Case Western Duals.

Men's Swimming & Diving
• The Vikings (2-1) return to action on Saturday, Jan. 14 for a Horizon League dual at UIC at 12:00 pm ET.
• CSU competed at the Copa Coqui meet in Puerto Rico this past week, a meet that features a limited number of long-course meter events.
• Senior Philipp Sikatzki won the 100-meter butterfly events.

Women's Swimming & Diving
• The Vikings (2-2) are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 14 when the Vikings travel to UIC for a Horizon League dual at 12:00 pm ET.
• CSU competed at the Copa Coqui meet in Puerto Rico this past week, a meet that features a limited number of long-course meter events.
• Sophomore Molly McNamara won the 100-meter butterfly.

Wrestling
• Cleveland State opens Eastern Wrestling League action on Sunday (Jan. 15) at George Mason at 2:00 p.m.
• The Vikings last competed on the first two days of 2017 at the prestigious Southern Scuffle. Nick Montgomery was the lone unseeded wrestler to place at the 149-pound weight class in that event.
• Sophomore Evan Cheek leads the team with 15 wins on the season.

VIKING OF THE WEEK

Ashanti Abshaw| Sophomore | Women's Basketball | Cleveland Hts, Ohio

Abshaw helped the Vikings split a pair of road games over the weekend. She recorded 15 points, three rebounds and a steal in a win at Northern Kentucky on Thursday and posted her second double-double of the season with 26 points and 13 rebounds on Saturday at Wright State. She shot 15-of-29 from the field over the two games.

Recorded his sixth career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds on Thursday night at Wright State.

Molly McNamara | So. | Women's Swimming
Earned a win in the 100-meter butterfly when CSU competed at the Copa Coqui meet in Puerto Rico.

Olivia Voskuhl | Jr. | Women's Basketball
Came off the bench to score 14 points, hitting 6-of-9 from the field, in Thursday's win at Northern Kentucky.
