A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING

Men's Basketball
• The Vikings (1-4) end a four-game roadtrip with an 8:00 pm game at Arkansas State on Wednesday (Nov. 30) and return home to host Bethune Cookman on Saturday (Dec. 3) at 12:00 pm at Quicken Loans Arena.
• CSU dropped two games last week, falling at #1 Kentucky on Wednesday and at Duquesne on Sunday.
• Rob Edwards averaged 21.5 points in the two games, including a career-high 28 points at Kentucky.
• Demonte Flannigan and Terrell Hales - who both missed the first four games of the season with injuries - returned on Sunday at Duquesne to make their season debuts.

Women's Basketball
• The Vikings (2-3) will return to the road for a pair of contests this weekend, participating in the Navy Classic on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4.
• CSU will take on Navy at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, before facing Richmond at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
• Cleveland State wrapped up a three-game homestand with a 65-42 victory over Lake Erie College last time out, after falling to Niagara (67-49) in a midweek matchup.
• Entering the week, three Vikings are averaging double-digit figures; Ashanti Abshaw (13.2 ppg), Nicolete Newman (12.0), and Khayla Livingston (11.0), while the quartet of Abshaw, Livingston, Oliva Voskuhl, and Mariah Miller are all averaging a team-best 5.4 rebounds per contest.

Swimming & Diving
• Cleveland State has another week off before resuming action when it hosts Canisius (Dec. 10).
• The CSU men won the Magnus Cup (Nov. 18-20) for the third consecutive season, as they accrued 1,608.5 points.
• Senior Philipp Sikatzki broke the school record in the 200 IM, reset two pool records and notched NCAA 'B' cut times in four events. Sophomore Tommi Wolst book the school record in the 200 backstroke and surpassed two NCAA 'B' standards.
• The CSU women finished fourth of 14 teams at the Magnus Cup with 800.5 points at the Magnus Cup, their best finish at the meet since 2013.
• Sophomore Molly McNamara broke the school record in the 100 fly, with a 'B' standard, and also won the 200 fly. Junior Tobie Zeller won the 100 breaststroke for the Vikings.

Volleyball
• Cleveland State (25-5) will be making its fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament this weekend, facing Arizona in a first round match on Friday, December 2.
• CSU will be playing in East Lansing, Mich., with the winner of the Cleveland State/Arizona contest taking on the winner of the Michigan State/Fairfield match on Saturday, December 3 at 7:00 pm.
• Earlier this month, the Vikings captured the 2016 Horizon League Tournament title – claiming both the Regular Season and Tournament crowns for the second straight season.
• The Vikings will be led in the NCAA Tournament by All-Horizon League honorees Grace Kauth (Player of the Year), Gina Kilner (Setter of the Year), Sara Skeens (Freshman of the Year), Alexis Middlebrooks (First Team), and Aaliyah Slappy (Honorable Mention).

Wrestling
• Cleveland State resumes action this coming weekend when it participates in the Storm Open, hosted by Lake Erie, Saturday, Dec. 3.
• The Vikings suffered a pair of setbacks this past week while competing in a tri-dual at Kent State. CSU fell to nationally ranked Ohio State, 52-0, and lost to the host Golden Flashes, 40-3.
• Nick Montgomery earned a 6-2 win at 149 pounds in the dual vs. Kent State.

VIKING OF THE WEEK

Rob Edwards | Sophomore  | Men's Basketball | Detroit, Mich.

Edwards averaged 21.5 points in CSU's two games last week. On Wednesday, he poured in a career-high 28 points with four rebounds at No. 1 Kentucky, hitting 12-of-21 from the floor. He also tallied 15 points and eight rebounds at Duquesne. Edwards shot .576 (19-33) from the field over the two games, adding five assists and two steals.

The longtime CSU employee and official scorer for volleyball games enters her final week at CSU as she retires on Dec. 2.

Nick Montgomery | Sr. | Wrestling
Earned a 6-2 win at 149 pounds in CSU dual vs. Kent State.

Nicolete Newman | So. | Women's Basketball
Averaged 11.0 points in two games last week, hitting 5-of-10 from three-point.
